Loveland Surgical Associates promotes the goal of proving appropriate surgical care for your disease, while allowing for faster and less painful recovery whenever possible. In many cases, this means utilizing the latest technology for your procedure.
Loveland Surgical Associates utilizes the latest minimally invasive technological advancements to ensure your quality of life and peace of mind.
Robotic Surgery
One of the newest advances in minimally invasive surgery is
robotic-assisted surgery. Loveland Surgical Associates surgeons are
trained on the da Vinci® robotic system. Where robotic surgery excels is
with complex surgical procedures that previously needed open surgery to
be completed. The end result of a robotic-assisted surgery can include:
less pain, shorter hospital stay, and faster return to “normal” life.
Loveland Surgical Associates uses the da Vinci system with many
conditions including colorectal disease, gastrointestinal disorders and
some hernias. For more information on the da Vinci® system, click here.
Laparoscopic Surgery
Laparoscopic surgery is also known as minimally invasive surgery. The idea behind minimally invasive surgery is that smaller incisions equate to less tissue irritation at the access point to the diseased body part. When these smaller incisions are utilized, there is typically less pain and less time needed for recovery. Many diseases of the abdominal compartment can be treated with a laparoscopic approach. The surgeons of Loveland Surgical Associates strive to remain at the forefront of minimally invasive surgery in Northern Colorado.
Incisionless Surgery
Recent advances in surgical equipment have allowed surgeons to utilize what is now referred to as NOTES: natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery. With specially designed tools, surgeons can access intra-abdominal organs through the mouth or other body cavities. Currently, the surgeons of Loveland Surgical Associates offer incisionless surgery for correction of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) using a procedure called Transoral Incisionless Fundoplication (TIF). Feel free to consult with your Loveland Surgical Associates surgeons to discuss this exciting technology.
