Melanoma

Melanoma

Malignant Melanoma is the most severe form of skin cancer. Melanoma is more likely to spread to other organs than other skin cancer, usually through lymphatic channels and lymph nodes. Because melanoma tends to be more aggressive in the way it attacks the body, surgical treatment is more aggressive as well, typically involving a wide excision, and lymph node evaluation. In cases of wide excision, sometimes a skin graft or rotational skin flap will need to be able to adequately close the wound. The surgeons of Loveland Surgical Associates will discuss your melanoma at treatment options in depth during an office consultation.
