Femoral Hernia

A femoral hernia occurs due to a weakening in the abdominal wall near the thigh, just below the groin. It is called a femoral hernia as this is where the femoral artery and vein pass into the leg. Patients who have a femoral hernia experience groin and thigh discomfort.

Your surgeon at Loveland Surgical Associates can repair femoral hernias through a laparoscopic or traditional incision, typically utilizing synthetic mesh as part of the repair.
