Colorectal Cancer

Colon cancer or rectal cancer occurs when a malignant growth develops in the colon (large intestine) or rectum. Many of these cancers are discovered with routing screening utilizing colonoscopy, which is advised for all people over the age of 50, or those under 50 with symptoms or a family history of colorectal cancer. Common symptoms of colorectal cancer include blood in the stool, unexplained anemia, change in stool caliber or pattern, bloating or intestinal blockage, and unexplained weight loss.

Surgical options to treat colorectal cancer range from laparoscopic-assisted resection to traditional open resection. The surgeons at Loveland Surgical Associates will review your case and discuss the best approach for you.
