Benign Breast Disease
Benign (non-cancerous) masses are commonly found in the breast on self-breast examination, or by mammography. Oftentimes a needle biopsy can be performed to ensure that a mass within the breast is benign. At other times, an operative breast biopsy is necessary to determine if it is, in fact, benign, or to remove some benign growths.
Types of benign breast conditions include: • Fibrocystic changes • Breast Cysts • Fibroadenomas • Intraductal papillomas
Depending upon the type of condition, the surgeons at Loveland Surgical Associates will review your options and help you decide how to best treat your breast mass.
